INTRO: Before Oblivion
Before Oblivion is a science-informed architectural project. It addresses the relationship between memory and space and explores how architecture captures and triggers spatial memory.
It questions what architecture is in the broadest sense, assuming that it is not simply buildings, but also a mental construct considered to be the mapping of physical, mental and emotional space.
The animation here presented is part of the recreation of several spatial memories based on a fictional character suffering from dementia, which helped portray the process and scope of the project.
